How to use Coloplast SenSura Mio Click Drainable Pouch?

Preparation of Coloplast Sensura Mio 2-piece Pouch:

1. Cut a hole in the barrier to fit the exact size and shape of the stoma using a pair of small curved scissors and the cutting guide on the barrier. You can use the enclosed stoma measuring guide to measure the size and shape of the stoma. An exact fit between the hole and the stoma is important to reduce the risk of leakage and skin problems.
2. Place the pouch on a flat surface with the coupling side down. Close the outlet by folding the bottom of the outlet upwards three times so that the Velcro strip becomes visible.
3. Fold the two turquoise tabs inwards to secure the Velcro.
4. The outlet can be hidden away by using either the Velcro dot immediately above the outlet, or by using the Velcro strip on the middle of the pouch. (This does not apply to the transparent pouches where there is no Velcro dot on the middle of the pouch).
5. Thoroughly clean the stoma and the surrounding skin area. The skin must be completely dry before application of the barrier.

Applying Coloplast Sensura Mio Pouch:

• Peel off the protective film from the barrier.
• Align the barrier around the stoma and apply pressure on the barrier to ensure fast adhesion and a perfect fit between the adhesive and the skin around the stoma. The barrier must fit snugly around the stoma. To prevent leakage it is important to ensure a tight seal around the stoma. When applying pressure to the barrier/pouch on the abdomen, begin in the area around the stoma and press the adhesive to the skin. Run a finger all the way around the stoma to ensure that the barrier seals. Smooth the barrier down, starting from the stoma and moving outwards to the edges, to ensure that the barrier has made full contact with the skin.
• Ensure the barrier is dry and clean (When cleaning the barrier only use water). Make sure that the lock ring on the pouch is open. Position the bottom of the pouch coupling at the bottom of the barrier coupling.
• Press the pouch and the barrier together at the bottom with your middle fingers and with your index fingers apply gentle pressure to the top of the coupling until you feel the pouch is correctly positioned to the barrier.
• With your index fingers apply gentle pressure to the top of the coupling until you feel the pouch is correctly positioned to the barrier.
• Close the lock ring by pressing the lock together. The pouch is securely attached to the barrier when you hear a ‘click’.

How to empty the Drainable Pouch?

1. Clean the outlet, for example with toilet paper. Fold and resecure the outlet after you have emptied the pouch.
2. Gently remove the barrier by pulling the removal tab on the barrier away from the stomach and roll the barrier slowly downwards. Apply light pressure on your skin with your free hand to help removal.

How to remove?

1. Remove the pouch by opening the lock ring by pressing the small turquoise tab facing your stomach with a fingertip.
2. Hold onto the removal tab and remove the pouch by carefully pulling the pouch away from the barrier.
3. Gently remove the barrier by pulling the removal tab on the barrier away from the stomach and rolling the barrier slowly downwards. Apply light pressure on your skin with your free hand to help removal.

Disposal:

• The product is intended for single use only and should be disposed of with normal household waste.
• Do not flush the product down the toilet.

Filter Label of Coloplast Sensura pouch :

• If required, to prevent gas from escaping, place one of the enclosed filter stickers on the filter.

Belt of Coloplast Pouch:

• Adjust the belt length, by pulling the straps, so it fits your body. There is no need to remove the fabric covering the buckle.
• Attach each of the four belt hooks to one of the four-belt tabs on either side of the barrier.
• Start from the front and apply light pressure toward the stomach. Then pull the belt hooks away from the coupling, until they “click” in place. (Only applies to products with belt tabs.)
