How to apply Hollister Ostomy Bag?

1. Take the soft Genairex Securi-T 1-Piece Ostomy Bag and cut the opening using a pair of scissors. To avoid cutting the pouch simply pull it away slightly and then cut the opening in the skin barrier. Curved blade scissors work the best for cutting an opening.
2. Cut the opening .One can smooth the inside edges of the skin barrier with finger tips.
3. Peel off the backing paper. Make sure the adhesive is facing up.
4. Remove the used pouch, it is easier to empty your pouch before removing it.Clean your skin with water or if needed with gentle soap. Note- Do not use oil, powder, lotion on skin.
5. Rinse and dry the skin thoroughly.
6. Put the pouch on by first centering the opening over the stoma.
7. Gently press the barrier.
8. To ensure it makes good contact with the skin, beginning next to the stoma and working out toward the edges.
9. Place the hand over the barrier and hold it in place for about 30-60 seconds. The warmth of the hand and gentle pressure will help to activate the adhesive. 
10. finally pull the tape. Remove the rest of the pulling paper fro the tape. 
11. Rest the tape down against your skin.
